Genesis Process

I started the Genesis Process in October of 2014. The book I'm writing is a product of what was revealed to me through this process. The process has identified false lies I had about myself and my giftedness.

For two years, I was silent on my blog and rarely wrote anything. Before my depression, I wrote a lot and started three novels. I kept a daily journal, but everything came to a halt. Through the Genesis Process, I rediscovered that God has equipped me to write. It is a passion of mine and I like to share and help others through words. Although the internal editor, the critic never shuts off in my head, I know that I’ve been equipped to share with others.

I met weekly for about nine months with a group as well as eight weeks one-on-one with a Genesis Process counselor. From the early chapters and processes taught, I learned that relationships have probably got me to the point of using the particular coping behavior we are coming to the group to break. But, it doesn't stop there. We will need relationships to restore us.

It is difficult for us to ask the right questions when attempting to understand something within ourselves. Something even more difficult is holding ourselves accountable, especially if we struggle with alcohol, drugs or other destructive behaviors. We need others.

The Genesis Process is designed to help provide the necessary understanding and practical tools for real and permanent change. The process helps retrain our limbic system (our survival brain). Michael Dye, the creator of the Genesis Process, is an International Addiction Counselor. He has worked with addicted or struggling people for over 30 years.
